The Atelier

Every piece begins as a bolt of antique cotton and a sketch. Designed, cut and sewn by hand in our little atelier — one small wardrobe at a time, for dolls who are loved.

How a piece is made

1. Choosing the cloth — antique cotton, linen and silk offcuts, chosen for hand and story.
2. Sketching the pattern — drafted to a doll’s proportions, refined by hand.
3. Cutting by hand — single-layer, with care for grain and bias.
4. Sewing — constructed on a domestic machine, then finished where it counts.
5. Hand-finished trims — lace, ribbon and tiny closures, sewn by hand.

What we work with

We favour natural fibres and found vintage notions: faded gingham, French linen, cotton lace, and the occasional scrap of silk. Nothing is mass-produced; each remnant decides what it becomes.
